Hybrid Apps
Hybrid frameworks provide a way to utilize web-based technologies to build mobile applications. Essentially, the developer uses HTML5, JavaScript, & CSS to create the functionality of the app which runs in a web view on the device.
We will not look at these hybrid apps in this guide. The reason is that we would simply debug the web view itself, and not the HTML code. In a Hybrid app, there is a folder called 'www' which contains the HTML, JavaScript, & CSS. You can review these manually if needed.
Each of these options serves different project needs, team skills, and application requirements. Objective-C and Swift (with SwiftUI for UI development) offer the power and performance of native applications, with Swift being the modern choice for most new projects due to its safety features, performance, and ease of learning. Hybrid app development frameworks provide a compelling option for teams looking to target multiple platforms with a single codebase, leveraging web technologies.
